FATHER’S DAY PRESENT
Maybe my favorite custom knife to date. Made for a Father’s Day gift. The “father” had owned a 1958 G. H. Russell Belt Knife years ago and loved it. His son and future daughter in law (who have couple of my knives) wanted him to have another one since he liked it and missed it so much.
After researching this knife, the above was designed and made. It is hand forged form W2 high carbon steel with distinct quench (Hamon) lines. The blade length is 3 7/8” and overall 8 3/8”. Beautiful book matched Arizona Desert Ironwood scales were used for the handle with a copper lanyard tube and peened copper pins. I personally love the distinct shape. It feels great in your hand (I will make more—a great design/ very functional). Sheath by Upland Leather.
The father had this to say to the couple about the knife :
